How it works
Ferrous fumarate is a type of iron that’s used as a medicine to treat and prevent iron deficiency anaemia. Vitamin C is used to enhance the absorption of iron from plant foods, and to support the immune system. Intrinsic factor is a protein that helps your intestines absorb vitamin B12. Cyanocobalamin is a manufactured version of vitamin B12. It’s used to treat and prevent vitamin B12 deficiency anaem as body requires vitamin B12 to make red blood cells.
Side Effects
Gastrointestinal intolerance may develop and be manifested as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or abdominal pain.
Drug Interactions
This drug contains iron as active ingredient. It may interacts with calcium supplements.
Indication
It is a preparation containing ingredients essential to normal erythropoiesis, plus a stool softener to counteract the constipating effects of iron.
When not to Use
This product is contraindicated in patients who are allergic (hypersensitive) to its active ingredients. It is also contraindicated in patients taking mineral oil, with intestinal obstruction, and acute abdominal pain.
Precaution
Do not take simultaneously with calcium supplements.
